MY EXAM SHENANIGANS

Hey guys,

This week was very intense for me:( I had exams everyday of the week so you can imagine how much studying I had to do. Usually during exams, I binge on so much junk and sugary foods to give me energy but this time I decided to try something different. I included more vegetables and protein in my meals. I had more home cooked meals, low-fat yoghurt, fruits, eggs, sweet potatoes, detox drinks and a lot of water.

I decided to post some pictures of some of the things I ate this week. I felt a lot healthier and better this time not binging on junk or sugary foods. I am definitely sticking to this routine from now on:):)

My new obsession; CHIPOTLE MEXICAN GRILL

Hey guys,

For a while now, I had been looking for something different. I was already getting tired of the usual meals I was eating. A few days ago, my friend and I were talking about well-balanced meals then she brought up the option of a Mexican meal from a restaurant called Chipotle Mexican Grill. I had seen the restaurant a couple of times but never really paid attention to it.

After a long conversation about the food, I decided to try it out. I got to the restaurant and ordered the chicken meal in a bowl. The meal had rice, beans, grilled chicken, peppers, hot sauce and lettuce. It was so good:) I believe it is well balanced because; rice is carbohydrate, peppers and hot sauce are good chilli sources, beans is protein and lettuce is a vegetable. They also have the steak and pork meal options. I have been there three times now and though you might think it is time to stop but I do not think I will till I find a new spot X_X

NICE PACKAGING HEHEHE

The snacks of Life

Hey guys,

Since the beginning of the month I try to eat healthy and stay away from sugary foods. It has been a very interesting journey for me. I found it very difficult at first but now I am easing into it and can go a whole day without having any sugary food or junk food:)

Before most of my snacks were either chocolates or fizzy drinks or biscuits but since I quit all of that, I have decided to focus on healthier snacks. I like to nibble a lot during the day and it just helps with not consuming as much calories.

My recent snack treats include;

NATURAL YOGHURT WITH  GRAPES, GRANOLA AND MUSSELS

TORTILLA CHIPS (I know this is not so healthy:( )

APPLE AND BLUEBERRY JUICE WITH MANGO SLICES

ALPEN CEREAL BAR

My Cheat Days; When I just cannot say NO!!!

Hey guys,

So I believe every human has one meal/food they just cannot say NO to. If you do not have one then I must say, I really do envy you. Well, personally I have a lot X_X but one of them would be fries or what some of you call 'chips'.

Fries are just so yummy and can be eaten with anything. It is very cheap to buy from Mcdonalds/KFC /Burger King or any other fast food and if I cannot buy, I can easily cook some up at home. For a while now, I committed myself to a NO FRIES DIET after hearing so many scary things about it and its negative effect on the body.

I was so committed till a few weeks ago:( At a friend's birthday dinner, I ordered fries with my ribs meal and then a couple of  days after I had fries as a side dish with my chicken sandwich. I admit those meals were so yummy and filling, I just had to accept those days as my cheat days:( and now working off those calories in the gym LOL

The first meal was at my friend's birthday dinner, We went to THE CHICAGO RIB SHACK restaurant:) P.S; I HAD NOT EATEN ALL DAY SO THIS WAS COMPENSATION FOR IT LOL

RIBS, CHICKEN, OREO MILKSHAKE AND FRIES

The second meal was a chicken sandwich with fries, The grilled chicken and salad compensated for the high calories from the fries LOL

    Do you have that food/meal you cannot say NO to?!?!? Please share:)

My strive to be healthy!!

Hey guys,

This past week I was on a healthy meal experiment. I found different ways to eat healthy and still enjoy my meals. To make sure I was eating right, I searched online for a list of high fibre foods and foods that I should avoid. I found out that foods I should focus on were vegetables, fruits(berries and oranges), salmon, seafood, oats, detox drinks and water while the ones I needed to avoid were chips, burgers, sodas, chocolates etc. I also started following a detox Instagram page that gave me ideas of different detox liquids and its usefulness.

 I made sure all my meals had one fibre content or the other, avoided the 'do-not' meals and drank detox water and drinks all week. My top main meals for the week were;

MEAL ONE ; Pasta and seafood(mussels, shrimps, scallops etc). I ordered this meal at a restaurant while at lunch with friends. It was very filling. Seafood is fish so it is a good source of vitamin A and D, for healthy skin, eyes and help the body absorb calcium

MEAL TWO; Home-made meal. Stir-fry indomie noodles with seafood, chilli and onions. Steamed vegetables by the side (broccoli, corn and string beans) and strawberries as dessert. Noodles for carbohydrate and vegetables for fibre. Strawberries also help reduce bloating.

MEAL THREE; meal from Itsu Restaurant. Japanese Sticky rice with cooked salmon and peas. Detox drink(apple, beetroot and ginger) by the side.

MEAL FOUR; Salmon salad (baked salmon with leafy vegetables, pesto pasta, coleslaw, pepper, croutons)

DETOX WATER; ORANGES AND STRAWBERRIES WHICH HELPS PROMOTE CLEAR SKIN

MY DESSERT WITH EVERY MEAL. TO REDUCE BLOATING, ENCOURAGE YOU TO ADD LOW-FAT YOGHURT TO IT

Best way to eat healthy is to have different high fibre meals daily so you do not get bored eating the same thing. Do not forget to stay away from junk and high sugar content foods:):)
